its not simple for me. I have second generation ipod touch and when it says the iPod must be restored before connecting with itunes you must restore it and blah blah, i click restore and then in the middle of the iPod repair thing it says this "The iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unkown error occured. (1604) why is it doing this?

Dude thank you so much...you saved my ass...when i was in itunes my ipod said something like this... itunes cannot connect your ipod mobile device because it is not on..or something like that. but anyways thank you so much for the video!
