| I love "El Paso" and was pleasantly surprised when I first heard "El Paso City" but this is the first I'd heard this song. Wikipedia says "El Paso" was recorded in 1959, "Feleena" was recorded in 1966, and "El Paso City" was recorded in 1976. In 1962 Marty recorded "San Angelo" which has a similar story-line to "El Paso". This was made into a movie a year later and titled "Ballad of a Gunfighter" with Marty in the title role. The story of the movie doesn't quite follow song. |
