It's actually not all in his mouth. The technique used in khoomei, sygyt, and kargyraa all originates in the vocal folds of the larynx, and the base of the tongue. Yes, you can produce overtones in your mouth by simply singing and altering the shape of your oral cavity, but that is different from what you hear in this example. Sygyt in particular relies on a deeper resonance than one can achieve solely through their mouth.

simply doing that will not produce such a 'strong' overtone. in theory everyone can do this, but then again, in theory, everyone can sing as well. we all have vocal folds and thats all you need to sing... in theory ;) yet most people can't controll them the way singers do. even if your range sucks you sh
óuld basically be able to sing within range. same goes for this, most people can't figure it out, and those who can probably don't get this strong of overtone.
