It doesn't look 3D to you? What are you a one eyed monster who lacks depth percetion? It is very 3D mind you. It just happens to be of very low resolution. The monsters ARE 2D. The only 3D stuff were the maps. This game was the balls in a multiplayer match with 10 other people! I grew up playing games such as DN3D and Descent. Also Kings Quest 7: The Princeless Bride. God how I loved those days... You stinking humans have been spoiled with your uber 3D-ness of DOOM!!! ZIM HAS SPOKEN!!

Of course, lets not forget Heretic!! This game was so spooky, with them mummies running around and those weird hooded beings throwing magic spells at you. Oh the flying gargoyles with their red skin and the claws and the OH SO COOL LOOKING BOTTLES WITH THE POIPLE LIQUID INSIDE!! ...and Spelling Jungle anyone...?

Well they actually release a HRP version of it. That stands for High Resolution Pack. Its being developed by fans I believe so don't expect uber elite graphics. However the gameplay is still the same. Some sounds changed slighty; no biggie. If you're interested in revisiting a the era of good games, may I suggest you give it a shot? No pun intended. Just google Duke Nukem 3D high resolution pack. Good luck!

O__O* I hate to break this to ya, but it sounds like he doesn't know what hes talking about...and I mean no disrespect! Computers do not become slow because of a file sitting idle somewhere on the hard disk. Thats like placing a cinderblock in the middle of a street somewhere far from you (say Russia), and expecting it to somehow affect traffic down your street. At least that goes for Duke Nukem 3D. Its just files extracted to your HDD. It won't affect the PCs performance one bit!

Oh and just to let you know, this game is so "light" (at least for the older version - not the High Resolution Pack version) that computers based on 486 Intels were able to handle it quite well! Well good luck with that. Either way, kids now adays wouldn't apreciate the game as much as us older geeks and dweebs... *sigh*

Hah, I played this game when I was 4. :P Didn't have an idea of what it was about except for, "shoot the bad guys." I think I only played the first three levels. Those flying octopuses scared me. D: Anyways, now I got it for Xbox 360 and it's a lot of fun. Can't wait to play some co-op with a friend.

Man I use to play this game all the time. Anyone remember T.E.N. ( Total Entertainment Network ) That was one of the first services to have multiplayer games. This game was king on there. If anyone does remember, I was Liquid97 ( yes, it was 1997 ahahaha ) Good times...

This is one of the best-ever games. Even as this game is considered bland by today's first-person shooter standards, this did a whole lot more things than what most other FPS's have done. I've been playing Duke Nukem 3D and Atomic since maybe 1996, and I still play it today using JFDuke3D. During this time, Duke Nukem Forever was never released. Really, a great franchise killed off without anything to really surpass it since DN3D. There's been more ports than proper sequels. Great game, still.
